Conception

An odd design piece I worked on in early June 2009.

Tinker in Troubleland

This piece was an experiment to see how gouache interacts with canvas. While I really enjoy the final product it became VERY clear that canvas and gouache are not meant to work with each other.

Hidden Under The Roots

Here is a piece I did for an art show last August (2009). It was mainly used as a study to see how I liked the interaction of guache on relatively high-quality hot-pressed watercolor paper. To make a long story short- it is now my surface of choice.

Two years later- I have returned!

It has been two years since I've updated this site and so much has happened. Shortly after graduating I began working for a small videogame company called Popandco, which eventually became This Is Pop. Over the course of my two years there I have had the pleasure to work with fantastic, talented people and help create art for dozens of games. Welcome!

Some might say it's taken me far too long to get into the world of Blogging. My only excuse for such a delay was because I wanted a reason to do so in the first place. A real one. I'm not really good at keeping diaries and found them a bit silly to begin with, so a random forum for my every-day activities was not good enough to convince me.

Then I got this brilliant idea (borrowed heavily from my friend Grant Newton). My main website (www.marcrobinsondesign.com) is a flash website. While this is all said and good, not only does it take longer to update then I'd wish, it is also restrictive in its accessibility. So why not create a second source for my art: one where I could update my progress almost instantly without any of that hassle.

So here it is! My second source! (well, third technically: please visit www.pratt-talent.com and search for Marc Robinson to find my mini-portfolio there as well). I hope to get this thing rolling and create what will hopefully be a very user-friendly source for my portfolio!
